Fellowship (JRF) cum Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in the Department
of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of IIIT Guwahati in the following

| ELIGIBILITY |
|

| Applicant
must fulfill the following criteria: |

| i) |
Master’s degree in
engineering/technology/science and application in the relevant area with a
minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of marks, having a
GATE/NET/SLET score in CS/IT. |
|
OR |
|
|
|
|
| ii) |
MSc (CS)/MSc
(IT)/MCA/Equivalent Non-Tech Master’s Degrees in the relevant area with a
minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of marks, having a
GATE/NET/SLET score in CS/IT. |
|
OR |
|
|
|
|
| iii) |
Four-year Bachelor’s
degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in a relevant area with a
minimum CPI of 7.0 or 65% of marks, having a GATE/NET/SLET score in CS/IT. |
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| RESERVATIONS |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| (SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy layer) and PD categories): Eligibility
criteria will be relaxed by 5% marks or 0.5 CPI for SC/ST/PD applicants.
Reservation is as per GOI rules. OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates will have
to enclose a certificate and self-declaration statement as per the format at
Annexure-I & Annexure-II. The OBC (NCL) Certificate,
issued by the competent authority must be valid at the time of
admission/joining the Institute. |

| FELLOWSHIP |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| The student will receive emoluments of an amount of ₹37,000 per
month for the duration of the first two years and ₹42,000 per month for the
third year from the Project Fund (subject to availability of funds under the
Project/ till the validity of the project).
In case of unavailability of Hostel (provided by
IIITG), the student will receive HRA till his/her engagement under the
project (subject to availability of funds under the Project/ till the
validity of the project). The student
is also entitled to reimbursement of OPD expenses ₹5000 per academic year
(August-July). |

| THE SCHEDULE AND THE
PROGRAMME |

| i) |
Admissions will be
held based on applications received. The last date for receiving the
application will be 20.07.2026 (Monday) |

Date of Selection in Online Mode: 27-07-2026
(Monday) |
| iii) |
Shortlisting will be
done based on the academic performance of the candidates. A candidate merely
fulfilling the eligibility criteria may not be shortlisted. |
| iv) |
There is no application fee. |
| v) |
Course Requirements, if any, will be prescribed by
individual Departments. |
| vi) |
There will be a
written comprehensive examination after admission to determine if the student
is ready to take up research work and to determine if the student has
sufficient breadth of knowledge in the discipline he/she has been admitted
to. |
