Semester Fees For Students joining in 2026:


First Semester Fees for new students (without hostel):

For candidates admitted through DASA 2026 (UG) participation only:

SINGLE TAG:

Case 1: DASA-CIWG candidate paid DASA US$ 300 as non-refundable registration fee and Rs. 62,500/- as tuition fee for Semester-I. DASA retains US$ 300 as registration fee. So the amount payable to the Institute is Rs. 1,53,500 —(minus) Rs. 62,500= Rs. 91, 000.

Case 2: DASA (non - SAARC) candidate paid DASA US$ 300 as non-refundable registration fee and US$ 4000 as tuition fee for Semester-I. DASA retains US$ 300 as registration fee. So the amount payable to the Institute is Rs. 1,53,500 —(minus) US$ 4000. {Any excess tuition fee (in Indian rupees) paid by a DASA candidate, the remaining balance amount (also in Indian Rupees) will be returned to the candidate through appropriate payment channel}.

Case 3: DASA (SAARC) candidate paid DASA US$ 300 as non-refundable registration fee and US$ 2000 as tuition fee for Semester-I. DASA retains US$ 300 as registration fee. So the amount payable to the Institute is Rs. 1,53,500 —(minus) US$ 2000. {Any excess tuition fee (in Indian rupees) paid by a DASA candidate, the remaining balance amount (also in Indian Rupees) will be returned to the candidate through appropriate payment channel}.

DOUBLE TAG:

ACCOMMODATION

Note: Fees related to accommodation must only be paid at the time of physical reporting at the institute.


On-campus hostel accommodation:

Due to the limited availability of on-campus hostel accommodation at IIIT Guwahati, it may not be possible to accommodate all first-year B. Tech male students within the campus. Approximately 160 male students shall be accommodated in the on-campus boys’ hostel. However, all girls and all PwD students will be accommodated in the on-campus hostels as well as ten (10) hostel seats will be reserved for DASA candidates. On-campus hostel fee details:

Hostel Fee:  Rs. 15,000.00 per semester (subject to change annually)
Hostel Mess advance: Rs. 16,000.00 per semester (subject to change annually)


Non Hosteller:

As mentioned above, some male students may not be allotted on-campus hostel accommodation. To facilitate accommodation for such students, the Institute has empanelled Paying Guest (PG) accommodation provider(s) located within 4 km of the Institute campus. Fee refund policy:

(i) No refund of tuition fee to be made if withdrawal is made after the last date of withdrawal/registration by DASA.

(ii) Mess Advance and Hostel rent may be refunded as per pro-rata basis (considering actual period of stay by the student) along with the institute caution money.


IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE FOR THOSE WISHING TO JOIN IIIT GUWAHATI

1. Every student must have a laptop of his / her own. You must bring your laptop with you when you join IIIT Guwahati.

2.There is NO concession in fees for SC / ST or any other category of students. So make sure you have enough funds before you choose IIITG.

3. Institute will help in obtaining Bank loans; State Govts give scholarships; the top ten SC and the top ten ST students will be eligible for Central Govt Scholarships. However, students have to be ready with money for the first semester’s fees as Bank loans and scholarship fund releases take time.

4. Students should have a NET banking facility from any bank, although payment by debit cards and credit cards will also be possible. All payments to the institute need to be made through the “SBI Collect” portal.
