About
Dr. Sarmah is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIIT Guwahati) since November 2023. Prior to this, she was an Assistant Professor at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Goa. She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics from the National Institute of Technology Sikkim, and M.A. in Agri-Business Economics from Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics in Pune. With multiple international and national journal publications, conference proceedings and book chapters, her area of research interest includes entrepreneurship, industrial economics, energy economics, and agricultural economics. She is also in the editorial board and reviewers of journals like Journal of Social and Economic Development; book proceedings like ICAEF book proceeding 2024 published by Springer and the like. She also acts as a reviewer to several funded projects of organizations like Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC) Bangalore; Handique Girls’ College Guwahati; BITS Pilani and so on.

Entrepreneurship, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Industrial Economics, Small-scale Industries and Agricultural Economics.
